Chopping Little Bits Off (One At A Time)

Happy New Year! I wrote this song a couple of years ago. I recorded it the other week, when I still had a cold. I'd only just got my voice back and I quite liked the idea of singing it with a rough/gruff voice...

Little Bits by Dominic Rivron

Just coming to the end of a great couple of weeks. Our family members are dotted all over England and somehow we managed to spend some time with a significant number of them.

I quite enjoyed this, Dominic! You are multitalented indeed. Have a great new year. I look forward to future postings.

Oh, I think the gruff voice really adds to it! It sounds rather like you're dying off with every chop.
You should definitely record this for mass consumption.

I had to re-follow you since I'm back on Blogger.

Oh, and I replied to your comment if you care to check it out.

I like the song a lot, Dominic, but couldn't hear all the words. Can you write them out below the clip?

A very happy New Year to you and yours and lots more creative jewels to add to your treasure chest.

Thanks for these comments, everybody.

George: Thanks! You too.

KM: Dying off with every chop - like it. I'll pop over to Poetikat and check those comments out.

KOTC: Thanks - I'd like that. Lacking a teleporter I'm not sure if May would be possible - but have a good one though. I do keep thinking of popping over to Ireland again when I can - if I do I'll look you all up.

Natalie: The gist of it is:

Chopping little bits off
one at a time,
Things you don't remember when the pain goes away -
it doesn't seem to matter, no-one seems to care, but they're chopping little bits off every day.

Superb! This is just a perfection of whimsy rendered sublime by understatement.

Happy New Year.

Going to be singing variants of "chopping little bits off" everywhere I go now.....
