Merry Christmas!

Three days early, I know...

Personent Hodie by Dominic Rivron

The tune Personent Hodie is one of my favourite "Christmas tunes". Versions of it existed as early as 1360.

A lovely peaceful start to the seasonal celebrations. An oasis in the breaking storm.

Have a good one.

Yes I like this one too - I think the really old carols are the most exciting. Do you watch Carols from Kings College? I always think of it as the start of my christmas. Merry Christmas to you too.

Merry Christmas!

(The title of that piece could be a drunken rambling about persistent hoodies...or not..)

I'd not heard this one before. Most pleasant and nicely played. Merry Christmas!

Thanks for these comments everyone. Have a good one!

Argent: it is nicely played, isn't it? I have to confess the computer played it - not me!

I love this piece and have a recording of it by Connie Dover. It is the intro to a song called, "Cantus".
