A bit of a Poem

This week's Monday poem is, well, a bit lightweight.

helium

fill me with helium
tie me down
take me for a ride
round dublin town

there, i'll tell you
in a squeaky voice
interesting things
about james joyce

Oh yes...high and low culture in 8 lines...all the world in a moment. Excellent job!

Thanks for these comments, everybody.

As for working James Joyce in, it was simply the case that he rhymed with "squeaky voice" ;)

Hey you're another one gone for the balloon man. This is so much 'lighter and brighter' than my attempt at this challenge! I like the way you change the tone in so few lines .....and it really made me laugh too! Great stuff.

Concise and dramatic. L love the fact that when you had said what you wanted to say, you stopped. Super.

Thanks for these comments everybody (if I could find a squeaky font, I'd be writing in it!)

Haha! A delight!

If you can riddle me Finnegan's Wake
And make Ulysses my mate
I'll go with you round Dublin Town
Until we both deflate.

Sorry!
