Maybe

Maybe by Dominic Rivron

I was really chuffed this morning to see a comment from Doug Laustsen to say that he'd included the last post, Number Nine, in his show, Endless Possibilities on the WRSU campus radio station. Thanks Doug!

There's something very peaceful and happy about all these pieces. Enjoying them.

Dominic, I think this is a great tune to play today in the ISS where astronauts may need to relax having to avoided an oncoming piece of space debris set to zoom past their window, hopefully missing them by 2 miles* ... -

I await your arrival at my computer so that I may understand the intricacies of it all. Congrats on the airing in Canada though.

Congrats on the airing. I liked this one quite well--there's a sort of accordion-like tone that comes in from time to time--both times when the music seems to "fragment"--one time about 1/3 thru, & then again right before the end. The phone beep was cool, too. Thanks for the recording info. I'm familiar with Audacity, tho I use an old but similar program called CoolEdit 2000. Am starting to work a bit with Audacity, because I've been warned that CoolEdit will probably stop working whenever I have an OS more recent than Windows XP.

This is wonderful, Dominic. Touches of gamelan and, yes, the occasional breathing of an accordion, or maybe a concertina. A delightful piece. Have you ever paired your poetry and your music?

Dave and patteran: Pleased you enjoyed it.

patteran: I've not tried combining my poetry with the music, but I have written lyrics for songs I've made and set other people's words, too.

You've got me thinking though... Scifi Sonnet 2 might lend itself to some sort of musical treatment not unlike Maybe...
